E3Empower has partnered with the Innovative Technology and Energy Center (iTEC) to bring
renewable energy and enabling technologies to promote economic development, training
and entrepreneurship in rural Tanzania.
  • 70% of Tanzania’s 56M population live in rural areas

  • 95% of rural households have no access to electricity

  • Only 30% of children are enrolled in secondary school

  • Structural and societal barriers for employment, particularly for women

  • Constructing 3 off-grid solar plants, generating 40kW to power ~200 homes

  • Developing a 10,000 sq ft techshop (maker space) and incubator for students and adults

  • Providing access to computers as part of STEM+IT classes

  • Providing entrepreneurship training and business plan competitions
